Announcing the winner in the 100+ gift-give away...
TABLESCAPES BY DIANE
Diane please contact me with information so I may send you Southern Lady!
(no compensation received by Southern Lady or Southern Progressive)
Again thank you to all my friends!
When I started this blog it was with the encouragement of the hubby. Who knew anyone would enjoy reading the escapades of a junkin' girl raised in the south! I wanted to share our travels, our passion for antiques, the trials of reviving an old piece of junk, our interest in music, new found places, foods, restaurants, basically our love for life! I have loved the journey and my hope is you have too!
I've made new friends all across the world. I've shared their interests and got a peek into their lives too! I've joined parties and magazine challenges. I've looked at the world around me in new and exciting ways.
Please continue to leave me those little comments that I so love to read. Continue to travel with my friend and me as we go down the junkin' road!
Have a Blessed Day!!
Jan

The New Year and One Gift-Away Celebration
Did you start your day watching the parade? I mean the big parade...The Tournament of Roses Parade from Pasadena, California!
(A close-up of roses used to create a parade float)
It seems to be a tradition in most households!
I am amazed how the architects (I do mean highly skilled people) can cleverly make all those flowers do and stay the way they are meant to do and stay!
( A Chariot Race during the 1908 Tournament of Roses; later replaced by the Rose Bowl Game)
Now I grew up building floats out of crepe paper, toilet paper, and chicken wire! I know, I know...dating my age just a wee bit!!
Sort of looks like diagrams in Chem Class!!
Fancy Shmancy paper!!
Welllll, we all know that crepe paper comes in many colors and after using the colors your fingers, hands and even faces turn colors too!!
The gift-away...
Now for a drumrooooooolllll please... "93 happy friends on the wall, 93 happy friends...take one down...NO, NO, NO... add one, and then another...to 100+ happy friends on the wall..."
Announcing:
Here Ye, Here Ye...for all those who have read, are reading, will read the stories about 'my friend and me' in our adventures in southern junkin'...
A GIFT...yes, that's right, a gift will be awarded to one lucky friend upon the blog reaching 100+ friends!
The rules you ask?
Ummm, oh yes, the rules! How about this:
1. Friend my blog! (whew, that's easy enough!)
2. Leave a comment! (I love to read what y'all are thinking!)
3. If you are already a friend, then just leave a comment! (I still like to listen to y'all too!)
Seriously, just so simple! (I like things nice and easy!!)
Winner will be chosen by random drawing. The drawing will take place on the next Sunday after reaching 100+ friends. The lucky friend will be announced on that following Monday's blog!!
(FYI, please make sure I can easily contact you! Keep checking in with my blog for updates!!)
And the gift you ask?
Ummm, oh yes, the gift...a subscription to Southern Lady Magazine
"Southern Lady is a bimonthly magazine that celebrates, delights, and inspires women who live in the South—and those who are simply Southern at heart." (anonymous)
Now get going...and along the way have a little fun, stop by and visit with my friend and me!!
Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!
