I was on my own for my junkin' jaunt this past Saturday. Said friend was too busy with a neighbor's project to spare the time to junk with me! BooHooHoo! (I really, really didn't mind because the neighbor has been helpful to my friend and me too!) I also had only a couple of hours to spare for my junkin' morning and could only hit a few sales in the area!
Luckily there were a couple of neighborhoods advertising sales, so I headed out in anticipation of good finds!
And of course the very best finds are always at the top of the hill...(puff, huff, puff, puff...LOL)
So many sellers throw it all out for you to rummage through...
This sweet couple was raising money for an adoption...
I think it is so generous of families to give to others to help in their efforts of adopting. The prices were right and I was able to pick up a few smalls. I thought the bamboo table and chairs was soooo cute but I didn't need it so another lady grabbed it! FYI, don't study toooo long on an item or it will be towed away!!
I was happy with my finds for the day!
A cheese block from mudpie (new, still in box)... iron and wicker wall hanger... iron candlebras...
A mirrored window... hanging light fixture... iron candle holders with sweet birds...
Working on revamping these treasures this week!
Grabbing the paper today to spot sales for the upcoming weekend! Ummmm, need to whisper in my friend's ear the plans...
Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

SOLD!...YOU BOUGHT IT!!
I've told many of you that our area is very fortunate to have sooooo many GREAT antique and junkin' places! From the WONDERFUL antique malls, thrift and consignment stores, hideaway (shure enuf!!) junk places my friend and me are able to enjoy them all on any given day!!
Great Auction Finds...
Super chest for storage! And someone walked away happy!
Ever seen a BLUE Coke Ice Box? Lots of interest here...
Most of you will not remember the old Dr. Pepper jingle...(but many of us do!!) DRink DR. PEPper, 10---2---4...
You never know what will come up for sale...
Tables of silverplate...many pieces still wrapped in bubble wrap from the estate sales...
Happy, happy, happy...my friend and me had a great time at the auction! And until the next time...
Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

A Good Day for M R Ducks!!!
Rain, Rain, Go Away, Little "Johnny" (my friend and me NEED to go junkin'!!) Wants to Play!! Even out on the lake the only living things I see are the DUCKS (m r ducks? o s m r!) and they are having a hard time staying in the water!!
I love signs and sayings. I get a KICK out of the emotions that a few choice words can trigger. The old junky discarded ones are true finds! From the hilarious to the sentimental I enjoy all of them!
My favorite ones are those based on scripture. These little tiles are great used as coasters or just "cutesy" items to give as hostess gifts.
And the CROSSES...
So many of the newly engaged couples are registering for gifts that include items which include a message...
Old and new marrieds like these...
"SIgns, SIgns EVEryWHere a SIGN..." This one is perfect for when I worked and the stress built, in my mind I would "go the beach"...
Living on the lake we compile a vast assortment of "huggies"...
These need no explanation...(my #1 son says live in a climate where flops are the norm!)
This could very possibly be my motto...
Hope you've enjoyed my tour of signs! Next time you're out shopping look for those that give you a little giggle or better yet some inspiration!
Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

April Showers Bring on the Flowers!
On this rainy morning in April 2010 I begin my new Blog, a southern girl's and her friend's adventures in "junkin'!" Now "southern junkin'" covers a lot of territory. The "hunt" is always on for those great buys to make our homes more comfortable, cheerier, prettier--CHIC! Of course flowers make a place all those things. And as soon as the downpour turned to sprinkles my friend & me headed out to the local landscaping supply store. Alas! Excitement turned to dismay as we realized "the truck" had not yet delivered the new shrubs and flowers we needed (not just wanted!) On the advice of another friend we drove on to Montevallo to check out "Cedar Creek." Boy, did we hit the mother-lode! We loaded the truck with ferns, vegetable plants, hydrangeas, marigolds(because my grandmother always planted marigolds as a deterrent to BUGS!), and mosquito plants (any help with those pesky rascals I need!). Another stop to pick up some bulbs, stop to eat, and it's home to plant. Ahh! Another good day of junkin'!
Have a Blessed Day!
