Made in the USA

As I told y'all in an earlier post my friend and me have been on the junkin' road!!  It has been a wonderful adventure into a land of vintage and made in the USA!!

Recently, I'm sure you've realized, there has been a major push by media types to find and buy products made in the United States of America.

They stated if all Americans buy just 'a few items' then  X  amount of jobs will be created!

I'm all over that!!  More jobs = better economy = happy life!!

Lucky us... we found dinnerware marked made in the USA at a small consignment store...

(someone out there please correct me if I'm wrong about the name of this pattern)

Currier and Ives China in the blue and white was the most popular pattern by Royal China Company of Sebring, Ohio.  The company produced the dinnerware from 1950-1986.
(Unfortunately, in the 1970's-1980's many china and glassware companies went out of business.
For me it was a great lost of American craftsmanship.)

In the shop the dealer had set a lovely table with the vintage china...

The vintage print brings about a nostalgic feeling...the good old days...evenings spent in rockin' chairs...watchin' the lightin' bugs fly in the night...grandma's cookin'...big family gatherings...

Ahhh, such a lovely feeling...made in the USA...

See y'all down the junkin' road!!

Usually I buy it if marked USA. I passed up two tea cups today in a thrift store that had USA on the bottom. Should have got them - just because. GO USA!

I'm pretty sure I had that same pattern in green at one time. I try to buy only dinnerware made in North America or countries where I'm more confident of the glazes used. I keep as much of the "good old days" lifestyle going around here as I can. ~ Maureen

Hi Jan,
I've really enjoyed this post. I have a large set of this pattern put away. After seeing this I'm going to get it out and start using it for everyday. I live in a log home and it will add a dash of wonderful blue to my table.

You found a great looking dinner ware, and bought Made in USA, I as so about that now after the economy turn up side down. Not to mention I work in antique mall, where most everyone flips over the bottom to read where an item is from.

Wow, what a score! I have these plates; found at an antique store in '99 for 10cents each. This is the first time I've seen the other pieces. Mine are hanging in my livingroom encircling a large painting.
I'm a new follower on GFC and Linky and hope you'll do the same. Also, hope you'll join my Frugal Treasures party tomorrow. I'm sure you have something fab to share.

I have my grandmother's from the 1960's and use them everyday. I just love them. They are very sturdy and I have no chips on any of the plates, bowls, and saucers. The cups, however, are stained on the inside from years of my grandparents drinking hot coffee! Very special to me! I recall my grandmother collected her set at the A&P grocery store.

I had that in green. I have some pieces put away.

What do you call those blue flowers?

My mom used to grow them in her garden and I think she had white and yes green?

I got a set of this at the time of my marriage in 1964. Winn-Dixie offered it as a premium to buy each week. I lived in Florida at the time.
