Have you seen the movie?

Many critics say it lacks... blah, blah, blah!
That it doesn't go far enough...blah, blah, blah!
Receives only 2 1/2 stars out of 4 or 5... blah, blah, blah!!

More than two decades in the making, George Lucas’ passion project “Red Tails” hit theaters on Friday, January 20, 2012!

Now at my age I don't pay alot of attention to movie critics!  If I want to see it then I usually do!!
(or for that matter I was this way even in my young age!!)

The hubs and I spent the afternoon at the movies!  It was filled with action...remember it is George Lucas, creator of Star Wars and Indiana Jones!!

And it is history packed...it recognizes the Tuskegee Airman. These men were trained in Alabama!

This is a photograph of a few of the actors portraying the airmen...

The Story
"The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American fighter pilots who were trained despite the racism entrenched in the U.S. armed services during World War II. They were deployed in action and achieved fame and many decorations for their skills against German pilots, which included engaging and shooting down Messerschmitt Me 262s, the first jet fighters. So successful were they at escorting American bombers that the white pilots requested them — contradicting a 'study' at the time that claimed 'Negroes lack the intelligence to operate heavy machinery.' " — Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

Now I know movies are fantasy but Red Tails is based on fact.  I feel it brings to light history that oftentimes is skipped over in the books.  It gives a glimpse into the lives of these brave young men...the Tuskegee Airmen.

Have y'all seen any good movies lately?  It is always fun to have a movie date!!
See ya down the junkin' road!!

I haven't seen it but I want to! Most of the times I enjoy the movies that get bad reviews anyway.
