Fly, Butterfly, Fly

First, I want to thank you for the encouragement you have given to me since really (not just every now and then) beginning this blog! I do appreciate all the comments and I read each one you send. Also I love for you to visit and recommend others to drop by! And a big thanks to those of you who are following my little blog!  Y'all are just the best ever!!

And now back to the story...
My friend and me were junkin' the other week and happened upon this wonderful little metal bench!

"Do you notice that the back looks a lot like those butterflies that Dolly Parton loves so much?" asked my friend. "You know, those that are hanging everywhere in Pigeon Forge!"

Well, I must admit...it really does remind me of a butterfly... if you look at it with the correct angle...and hold your mouth just so...and squint one eye almost closed...

You'll understand my ramblings when you see how it looked at the yard sale...

(Yep, the seat was not even bolted down! Seriously, with it in two pieces it was easier to load, then clean, and finally paint)

Thus the title of this post...I felt it had to fly;  fly all the way to my house!!

After scrubbing the bench clean, I was amazed to find little to no rusty spots!  What I thought had been rust was actually red dirt!! Go figure!

I do recommend a good quality spray paint when you plan to spray an item.  You will end up spending more money on cheaper paint because of the extra coats you will add to get the coverage you desire.  I chose a bright white and purchased the spray from Lowes.

I'm very pleased with the results!

As you know I love to stage my "finds", all pretty and dressed up, with the lake as my background!  And since I felt this would look great outdoors, I couldn't resist!  I added a pillow for comfort, grabbed a magazine, my shades, a pitcher of lemonade and settled down on the dock to relax and enjoy the morning!

Then I was reminded  (by the hubby no less)  that I couldn't just sit there, I had photographs and deliveries to make!
Well, DUH...I knew that!  (I really was enjoying the time to myself!!)

It could stay on my dock. It would look good on my screened in porch.  It could sit out in the garden among the flowers. Yes, the butterfly bench would fit in nicely in all these places, but it went to the shop at Chelsea Antiques!  And now someone special will find the perfect stop for the butterfly bench!  I just hope it is surrounded by real butterflies!!

That's my thrifty deal!  My wow factor! This week's project completed!

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

Gorgeous little bench. And yes, it's a butterfly. (Now, I wonder will it fly to me 'cause I'd love to have one like it.)

Oh she is a pretty one.....love that pic by the dock. It would be awfully hard to get any work done with such an inviting spot to relax!

Darling bench -- would look just lovely sitting on the bank of our pond! I found your blog through your comment on the Southern Hospitality blog, saw that you lived on an Alabama lake and decided to hop on over. No matter where in Alabama you are, I'm north of you, close to the AL-TN state line. Your blog is fun -- thanks for sharing! :)
