Finding Inspiration!

You never know where you will find inspiration!  I am always amazed at that...finding inspiration in some of the oddest places!  This can and will happen in all aspects of your life...but this day the inspiration came from shopping with the hubby!  I know! Can you believe it!  My hubby shops like most husbands...
know what you want,
go into the store,
locate the item,
purchase,
and out the door.
Can I have an amen?!!

But back to inspiring me...
We were shopping for fishin' stuff in one of those sports places! Y'all know what I mean...line, worms, rods, reels, etc. and the hubby became involved in all the "stuff" available sooooo I wandered off to explore....AND that's where I found the inspiration..right there on the FLOOR!

Beautiful, wide plank, rough cut, planks!! It made a wonderful floor!  Also it would look fantastic in a lake or mountain home!
No hubby peeking around to find me...so I kept exploring and found...

So many are using the antlers in their home and I thought this little lamp was so cute.  The tables were unusual too.  Look at some of the details...

So pretty, so unusual, so different!  So inspiring...

Oh, oh, there's the hubby...wait until I tell him what we can do with this pile of wood we have in the backyard!!

Wishing our #1 son a very happy birthday!!  God blessed us with a wonderful son!  We are so thankful for him and proud of him!!
See ya down the junkin' road!!

From Old to New Lamps

"The  sky is fallin', the sky is fallin'..."
No, no not Henny Penny!

                                            (wikipedia, Henny Penny, Chicken Little)

But I did wake up to this...

That's right!! Cloudy, rainy, dreary...ugh!

What to do?  I've been tied up with family obligations (not that I'm complaining as I love being involved with my family!)  But I so needed some ME time!  You've been there haven't you?  Just desire some time to relax and do things you like to do but don't always get to do them?  Well that's how I felt today. So this weather was not cooperating with my plans.  I wanted to paint one of the small tables I found recently.  What to do, what to do?

Sooooo,  (light bulb moment!!)  road trip!!  If today I couldn't create then I could admire the creations of others!!
My friend and me dropped by an antiques' mall and enjoyed a carefree afternoon!

We found lots of primitives.  I really like to find old jugs, crocks, and so on.

Beautiful...even with all the imperfections, wear and tear, the vessels are really artistically beautiful!

Next we uncovered these...
Can't you just see this in a keeping room...

Now this jug would look great at the lake...

Even though I would hesitate to drill holes into a fabulous vintage piece I don't think these pieces were in perfect condition!  But now they have made lovely lamps!

When my friend and me left the mall the sun was out and best of all " the sky wasn't fallin'!!"

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

It's an AhhhHahhhh Day!!

After completing chores this morning  (this is the way we wash our clothes...I declare, I can not imagine two people dirtying more clothes than we do, grrrrr!) the hubby and I headed out to one of our favorite antique malls.

Walking down the aisles I noticed the cutest lamps ever...made from an old pottery jug...

(Now I know it is difficult to bore holes into a perfectly perfect old jug but this is an idea for a slightly imperfect one!)

This one's previous life was a mere shortening can...can you say cute???

And this old rusty made a very modern lamp...
(would look really good at the lake, ummmmm)

Then on to our favorite Mexican restaurant...

And we were not disappointed!! The food was fantastic!!

Yummmmmmy!

Now after a bike ride with my main man, Gully, I feel a nap coming on!!!

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

Shabby Chic...with a Recycled Romantic Touch!

"Yes, I know"...these deconstructed lampshades have been all over blogland! But I thought they were sooooo cute and I wanted to make one too! Soooooo when I saw this lamp with the perfect shade I just couldn't resist!!

In my haste to get it done I simply forgot to make a before photo... And in my haste to load my goods onto the trailer for delivery I remembered I didn't have a photo of my new lamp on a tablescape to share with you...Soooooo

Here it is!

Cute, huh? The Lamp has a three way lighting feature. For the "romantic touch" the bottom portion of the lamp can be turned on to give that glow!

(Ya know, the more I look at this photo the more I like the setup!! Our lake is the perfect backdrop!!)

My lamp can be seen at Chelsea Antiques & Decorator's Mall! This Saturday is their Spring Fling with outside as well as inside pretties and deals galore!!

Come on out and visit with us...

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!
