RECLAIM...A Before and After

Reclaim...taking something old, not good for use, and making it usable again!  That's what my friend and me did with this buffet!  ("Did it come out of a barn?" my friend asked. "And who ordered that color in the first place?")

The BEFORE...

It had good bones...sturdy and solid.  I layered several paints!  Sorry, no specific colors as I used OOPS paints and mixed the colors until I was satisfied with the color combinations!  The top was painted a yummy chocolate color!  Then all was distressed and waxed!

Added some new knobs and here ya go...

(the base is a little bluer than my photos are showing!)

The AFTER...loaded and ready for sale at my "spot" in Chelsea Antiques and Decorators' Mall!

(available at Cottage Chic & a Little Antique, dealer 671)

I may link this "reclaim" to one of the blog parties!! Just sayin'...

Let me know about a reclaim you've finished lately!

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

"Gonna Take a Sentimental Journey..."

Along the junkin' road my friend and me find many items that tug on the heart strings...allows us to remember long forgotten items from childhood...items that have been restyled, recycled, reclaimed"Gonna take a sentimental journey...to renew old memories..."

Those things that make me cry out...I spent many long nights on a "rotary dial" phone!! ("Looooong before 'texting' was in our vocabulary," my friend says)

Quilts from my Mema's...ahhhh the wonderful memories of pricking my fingers trying to get the stitches small enough!!  And now recycling old quilts for pillows! (These were in my "spot" at Encore Resales but have already sold!  Yaaaay!!)

My friend found this clever use for an old cart...

 (Elizabeth Ann's in Encore Resales)

Tables...beautiful old lumber reclaimed...

Shabby Chic...with a Recycled Romantic Touch!

"Yes, I know"...these deconstructed lampshades have been all over blogland! But I thought they were sooooo cute and I wanted to make one too! Soooooo when I saw this lamp with the perfect shade I just couldn't resist!!

In my haste to get it done I simply forgot to make a before photo... And in my haste to load my goods onto the trailer for delivery I remembered I didn't have a photo of my new lamp on a tablescape to share with you...Soooooo

Here it is!

Cute, huh? The Lamp has a three way lighting feature. For the "romantic touch" the bottom portion of the lamp can be turned on to give that glow!

(Ya know, the more I look at this photo the more I like the setup!! Our lake is the perfect backdrop!!)

My lamp can be seen at Chelsea Antiques & Decorator's Mall! This Saturday is their Spring Fling with outside as well as inside pretties and deals galore!!

Come on out and visit with us...

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!
