A Year in Review

Hello there! 2011 has been a very busy, fun, eventful, and did I say busy year for my family!

You know LIFE just sometimes gets in the way... LOL!
And yes, I know and apologize for not posting in way too, too long! I've missed talkin' to y'all these past few months! Hopefully the new year will allow more "ME" time and I will be able to share more, read more, and visit more with the blogging community!

Family is so important to me...

with #1 SON starting a new business

with "Daddy's Girl" (aka "Tennessee Daughter") moving back to Alabama, school, farm life with her hubby

sharing time with my young loves

fun with the Lake Family

 music, music, music

And of course TRAVEL

Change came too this past year.
With a lot of sadness, my friend and me closed 2 antique booths (just too much sT rE Ss for this ole southern gal

But as we all know once mother's goin' junkin'...always junkin'!!

I'm missing the hunt and the thrill of finding that one item that is the... dare I say...the bomb!!

April 27, 2011 will forever live in my heart and mind as one of the worst days as the tornadoes raced across my beloved state of Alabama.

But out of the misery came hope, neighbors helping neighbors, friends and even strangers racing to help, rebuilding a stronger community.

The road to recovery is long... But all of Alabama are traveling it together.  And we are thankful...

Yes, yes, yes, as I look back at the year in review I can really say 2011 has been good to me!

And I'm happily looking forward to what the new year has in store for my friend and me!

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

My Own Kind Of Paradise!

The junkin' road carried my friend and me to the sugar, white, sandy beaches of south Alabama!
And yes, to me it is paradise!!

So peaceful, so relaxing, so perfect...

I'm not "sitting on the dock of the bay... but I am "watching the TIDE rrrrooooolllllllll away...

And as the sun sets over the water...

It makes you want to say....Uh Huh, Life is Good!!

Nighttime at the beach means more fun...
Time to chow down on some good old southern fried seafood (or grilled!!LOL) at the new location of...

TACKY JACK'S! Right on the inter-coastal waterway (across from Lulu's)

Come by car, by boat...

My friend and me listened to some great music in the outdoor bar...

while waiting on our table...

Oh yes, I have to say that The Zac Brown Band with Jimmy Buffet have it correct...

"KNEE DEEP IN THE WATER SOMEWHERE...
...ONLY WORRY THAT THE TIDE MAY TAKE MY CHAIR..."

Paradise with a capital P, my kind!!

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!

Starstruck...Legendary Steve Young in Concert!!

Along the junkin' road we sometimes have the opportunity to hear great music! (another passion!!) This past weekend was one of those times! The legendary, singer, songwriter, guitarist Steve Young was in concert in a local establishment!

On stage...

Mr. Young's most recognized song is from the Eagles 'Seven Bridges Road' (which amazingly enough was a true road out of Montgomery, Alabama!!)  Other notable ones are 'Lonesome, On'ry and Mean' and 'Montgomery in the Rain' (which has a huge cult following in Europe of all places!)

Steve Young was born in Georgia, raised throughout the South, lived in NYC Greenwich area, settled for a time in California and was a vital force behind the "outlaw movement" that gave support to Waylon and Hank Jr.

Pictured in this photo is Jimmy Warren, Young, and Herb Trotman (not outlaws!)

Well ya never know where the road will take my friend and me...

Have a Blessed Day!! And see ya down the junkin' road!!
